Virtual Experience Educator

Part-time, remote

Seeking a master facilitator who enjoys supporting young people in leveling up

As the Virtual Experience Educator, you will be responsible for delivering our specially designed skill-building content to students in the Virtual Experience. This curriculum serves to help students, or fellows, learn and strengthen a slew of skills to support their personal growth and development throughout the program. Skills like setting goals, creating community, time management, and building professional relationships (to name a few) will all be presented to fellows through workshops, discussions, and challenges that allow them to have as much of a hands-on approach to learning (as is possible online!).

The Educator role will host live sessions on Zoom for student groups in three time zones: ET, CT, and PT. Daily lessons will be the same for each time zone. Educators will also host weekly virtual open office hours to support student questions and concerns, curate a weekly report on student progress, and maintain communication with the Senior Program Manager via Slack and weekly meetings. At the end of the program, the Educator will submit evaluations for each student detailing both positive and constructive feedback for fellows based on their performance throughout the semester.

About Year On

Year On is an experiential education program that guides people to explore who they are, where they want to go, and how to get there. We do this by equipping them with the clarity, self-confidence, and tools they need to bridge any gap they may encounter in their life. We are on a mission to support high school graduates learn about themselves so they are better prepared for college and beyond. We use our coaching methodology to meet students where they are so they can identify what interests them in a proactive way. Our graduates talk about how this program changed their lives, leaving them better prepared for what is ahead, even if they don’t have all of the answers.

The Virtual Experience is designed for students who want to have a big impact, build new skills, and add competencies effectively and conveniently from anywhere in the world.
